Best chamber sealer

Hey guys and gals!

I know there's lots of posts about this but in a wide range of products which I'm trying to narrow. I'm looking to buy a chamber sealer for $1500CAD, which isn't much these days lol. I just want something good that I can fit a 1/2 hotel pan in, good pump, and whatever you guys think is most important features for that price range.

In that price range, I'd recommend the Vacmaster 215. It's about the only oil pump system at that price point. Not sure if you can fit a half hotel pan in there though. I don't have one to try. I think height would be the primary concern, but it's going to be close on width too. I'll measure my chamber tonight for you and let you know exactly what I get for dimensions.

Ok, the chamber of the 215 is ~ 11" wide x 13.5" with the seal bar in place, but a little less than 2" deep at those dimensions. The top is domed, so it is deeper in the middle, but with a 1/2 hotel pan, you will be out at the edges. A 1/4 baking sheet fits fine, but I don't think you'll get a half size hotel pan in there, even a 2.5" deep one.

Thank you kindly sir! That's the one I'm looking at to start out with. I think it's the best option for the price and for my first machine!

The VP215 is a good machine. Look at your options for buying them from the US and maybe getting it yourself. In my case shipping at the border was free and having it shopped to Canada was around 10800$... If you buy it in Canada it's available at costco.ca and they have a very good return policy.

I love my vp215. Use it several times a week for either sous vide or food storage.
