4½-inch cornet mold (size #35)?

Would love to find a source for the molds that TK uses for his Salmon Tartare. The ones sold on Amazon, jbprince etc are just way too big. I ordered the smallest ones I could find but the taper is way off and too large at the top. I ended up using a turkey baster as a form and molded aluminum foil around it for a makeshift one. While they turned out ok, it would be nice to have something more durable. Here is a shot of one of them.

@RED -- I checked the cream horn molds today and they measured approximately 1-1/4" in diameter at the large end and approximately 4-1/4' long. A crappy tape measure is all I had, sorry. Apparently we no longer sell them in sets but rather individually. $5.00 each. The item number is 738682. Good luck!

They were very good, and were also so simple to make. Well, a few scorched fingers but they were worth the effort. No griping here, I just get a little obsessed tracking down items.

I did do some research both on line and at our local restaurant supply but none of them seemed to fit the bill. I am thinking of firing up the wood lathe and turning out a couple of samples.

You could also look for a large piping bag tip, they are probably going to come in smaller sizes than the typical cornet molds

I've seen videos of Keller demonstrating this signature dish, and it looks like he's only wrapping the dough about halfway up the cornet mold.

We do have one close to us, but they did not have any at that location. I also did see them on the Sur La Table website and looked them up at Ateco / webrestaurant but the open end is from what I can tell just shy of 2 inches across. I would like to stay with the length and have the open end just over 1 inch.

@RED try using cream horn molds. I work for Sur La Table and we sell them; a set of 4 or 6 is less than $10. If there isn't a store near you, try the website, "www.surlatable.com"
