All,
I'm calling on the collective wisdom of my peers here on ChefSteps. I am soon to be the proud owner of a used IEC centrifuge that should serve me well for most of my culinary projects. While the machine seems to be in great physical condition, I thought it might be wise to have the rotor tested for stress fractures before putting it to use. Has anyone here attempted to do this? If so, where did you go for this service? Someone on eGullet suggested having the rotor x-ray'd but I predict that I would be scoffed at If I rolled up to my local hospital with the rotor tucked under my arm.
Thoughts or suggestions?
