I also remember mention of Cost Plus of all places but that was a long time ago and my memory isn't what it used to be.

I got cheap ones (<$2 each)at Cost Plus World Market. I think @Grant Lee Crilly pointed to these: http://www.worldmarket.com/product/slate-soup-spoons-set-of-4.do?fMb=1&green=DB89DD1D-DF0E-5044-A66A-D86465F5396F&Clickid=mybuys_prod_cs and that's what I have in a couple sizes.

Not sure which are used in the videos, but I'd start with one of these.
