vacuum chamber

Hi guys!

I'm looking into buying a vacuum chamber for quite some time now and I am still confused which ones are good for home use (and not 5000 dollars or more). What would you recommend ( I don't want a sealer because of the liquids and powder stuff that I want to use it for)? Moreover, it would be awesome if there would be a class on vacuum chambers and other uses you can do with it beside things such as strawberries infused with herbs scents).

I also would love to see a class. I have recently acquired a VacMaster VP 112 and love it. I think it is robust enough for home use and new is between $550 and $650 US

Many of the amateurs here have one of the VacMaster units and are very satisfied with them. I have the VP-215 and love it! I too would love to see a class devoted to getting the maximum use out of our chamber sealers!

I also have a VP-112 and I love it. The "step up" VP-215 was just too tall to fit on my counter, so I went for the cheaper model with the dry piston pump. If I was made out of money, I would definitely go for one of the higher end sealers with a Busch pump, but they tend to be $2500 or more and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything important with the VP-112 (which was less than a quarter of the price). I wouldn't kick a Minipack out of the kitchen if it randomly showed up on my door one day though...

Have the vp112 and am more than pleased, but if $5000 is your limit, I would consider a better model, or add a used centrifuge, and probably a small dewar. Would also consider a rotovap if that were my budget, but I do already have a VP112. :-)

VP215. Oil pump. Use it almost daily. Got mine from the Homebutcher website on a scratch and dent sale…big discount. Saw them at costco some time ago...

Talking about the good stuff, these are definitely on my wishlist. Need a bigger kitchen though. What type of rotovap would you buy?

hmmm, if new, HEB biotech probably, but only b/c of affordability (~$3100 delivered-new)
