Most of you here are probably aware The Fat Duck has recently reopened and after an awful lot of effort today (I think the system basically crashed earlier), I managed to get a reservation for January. Super super excited to be going back.
I am fortunate to have eaten at a lot of good restaurants in the last twelve months (Restaurant Story twice, Dinner By Heston, L'autre pied, Purnells, The Sportsman, Dabbous, The Clove Club, Marcus), but nothing makes you quite as excited as a trip to The Fat Duck. I have had a bit of a bad time of things over the past two years to be honest and these meals have definitely been an escape from all the crap, but this will perhaps be the last one for a while.
Plus during the horror that is December in this industry it definitely gives me something to look forward to.
