fizzy fruit using siphon, let gas out of first charge. What happened with the cake? Have fun with the induction burner. :-)

You asked what went wrong with my Carrot Cake. The first thing one learns from CS is

I did not have a plan in place.
My normally reliable scales went dead effecting the powder measurements. I kyboshed the aluminum rings and used a make shift plastic mold. My bad.
The whole process was going downhill, and as if I were in a vortex, when I was ready to put the carrot mixture into (my two-week-old sous vide ANOVA). The water was the wrong Temp. The machine had stopped working.
In a panic, I called the Anova Company for help. YIKES!
The stopping and starting was critical in the failure. I will try again with a Plan in place.
I am collecting ingredients to make the Black Forest Glen Cake.

Thank you for sharing. As a heads up for the black forest cake you may consider letting the chocolate cake set in the fridge instead of at room temp and for slightly longer than written. A few of us encountered the same issue with the foundation melting on us.

Disasters are great, pretty sure you learn an awful lot more from disasters than when things go perfectly.
