If you work in a kitchen you will probably hate them. If the handle or your hands are wet, they become a bit slippery. Still manageable in a home kitchen environment, but during rush our in a kitchen not cool. Plus however cool the one piece metal handle looks, its pretty small and uncomfortable to grip.

This is where I am. They're well made for mass-production pieces, but they just don't fit right in my hand.

I feel like no matter what you buy, there will still be haters and fanboys out there so I'd take everything with a grain of salt and buy what you like...after all, you're the one who is going to be using them
As for me, I tried them and I wasn't a fan. It wasn't that they were horrible knives; they just didn't feel right in my hand.

Depends on if you get the GF models or not I'd guess. They are nice knives, the best knife is the one that fits your hand, is comfortable and really, really sharp.

. I have followed your post. Don't be enamored by a "set of knives", you don't need that. you need 3 or 4 basic knives depending on what you do. The money is well spent on a good knife, my meat slicing knife is 35 years old as is my bread knife (they don't match) I have a Shun Ken Onion 10", Tadafusa Nashiji Gyuto, and a Yoshikane Petty Knife.
