Not sure if there is a post about whipping siphon's... But I would like start creating different things with this tool. Is there a difference when buying one? Can anyone recommend a good starting siphon please?
Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean by a "good starting one" but i would recommend an ISI siphon. They're on the pricey side, but they are well made, durable, stainless steel that last you a long time. I recommend stainless steel regardless of the brand, because you can use it with acidic or alkaline foods and not have to worry about pitting or damaging your siphon. As for size, that's going to depend on what you're planning on doing with it and how often. I have a 1 liter, though when i use it, I'm often making a large volume of Whatever it is I'm making. I hope you find this useful. Good luck

I'll second the recommendation for iSi siphons! Also, check out the class on how to get the most out of your siphon here at ChefSteps, its terrific!

3rd the isi recommendation and go with the larger. the 500ml (?) is quite limiting.

I just finished
ChefStep's Whipping Siphon's class
. I highly recommend it. You will pick up A LOT of good tips along with ideas for your own modifications.
(Just last night I made a tasty miso foam that went with some asparagus)
Anyway, I recommend you get two siphons, the smaller size will come in handy when you are experimenting, the larger size can be used when you have a crowd. I've only used the iSi model so it is the only recommendation I can give. Take the class if you can. It is really worth the small investment.

Both of Bobby's tips on taking the class here and on having 2 siphons are great; I have both a .5L and 1L model and use them both ...

Is there anything that you can do in 0.5L model that is impossible/problematic in 1L?

Nothing comes to mind right now ... Sorry if this isn't more helpful
