Hi guys, just wondering if it was possible for me to make nut-free macarons. I just took the class and I loved it and would love even more to make them. But due to my nut allergy I can't make these. Please let me know if there's anyway I can make a nut-free version while still tasting and looking the same. Thanks.

Taste will be very affected as the almond flavour is very predominant in macarons. I've never tried or seen anyone trying to make them with regular flour, but I guess you could try..

But there's gluten in flour. Can I use sunflower seeds and grind them up

Are you trying to make nut free, or gluten free?

I've done powdered coconut before. Just grind up some desiccated/dried coconut in a food processor and sift.

for me, macaron's primary characteristic is its nutty flavor due to almond flour (as well as pistachio). It is possible, indeed, to make nut-free macaron and I hope that you are not seed allergy (pumpkin seeds yes) or coconut (IDK about this one) but definitely the true flavor of macaron will not be there. In other words, allergy sucks.
