ChefSteps enters the appliance market!
Who's excited? I already have a Polyscience circulator but have been in the market for another immersion circulator to prepare veggies and sides along with my proteins.
I think there's two things that make this product unique:
1) Size - it seems truly portable, which is very attractive.
2) Software updating - ultimately, it seems as though you're buying into a system, more than merely a product. Sure, we can't imagine future possibilities today, but it sure will be nice to be able to expand the functionality of existing products when we can see those possibilities.
I must say, I wish circulators came with a better water container solution. I love being able to attach it to nearly any pot or cambro, but having that custom cambro lid to prevent steam evaporation is a huge plus for long cooking times. Only the polyscience has such an option, and I don't really like the idea of hundreds of hollow (and somewhat expensive) balls to act as a lid. Plastic wrap seems wasteful and clunky.
