Sousvide Water Heating
Al_Davies_173173
Hi
I have a sous vide supreme which takes ages to heat the water to the correct temp.
Is there anything wrong with boiling a kettle and adding that to get it up to temp quicker?
Cheers
Al

Hot tap water is the first place to start, as it is usually in the 120-135F range.

Ditto. Fill the bath with hot tap water, and your heat time will easily be cut in half.

X3 my anova has the same issue so adding hot water is common.

I used to do it all the time. You probably could do it straight into the SVS, but I usually already had water in it and was tweaking to a temp.
Hope that helps.

Great - thanks everyone for the confirmation.

Have you tried using an
electric kettle
? I'm using a stainless steel electric kettle and it has fast boiling feature. Perfect for preparing my morning tea.
