Does anyone know what the tan thing is hanging off the glass in the Egg Nog recipe?

I don't think so.... Nutmeg doesn't look like that. It looks like this:

"Pour rum and eggnog into four glasses. Or put it all in one big bowl. Garnish with a little fresh nutmeg."

That's what ChefSteps says it is

it's whole blade mace
