Cleaning Kitchen Towels

Hello everyone,

I've noticed that the blue-striped bar mop towels at Chefsteps are always super clean. My question is: how does everyone keep their kitchen towels super clean and white? Many of mine now have small stains one them. Is there a way to get them very white without having to just buy more towels?

If you're super concerned with stains, you could pre-treat them before you launder then. I usually just replace them as they get overly stained. Chlorine bleach doesn't hurt every now and then.

you buy a laundry pretreatment solution (sold in the laundry aisle of the store), spray or rub it into the stain, toss it in the laundry as usual

I switch towels often, but restaurants I've worked in usually replace their towel stock every 2 days tops.

I usually just bleach mine heavily and plan on replacing them couple times a year. Restaurant supply usually has them on sale pretty regularly so I just grab a bundle anytime I see them cheap.

If they have grease stains you can get them out by pretreating with dishwashing liquid. Just pour it right on, let it soak, then wash in hot water. This gets grease/oil stains out of clothing as well. I buy the cheapest, white grocery store brand so there isn't any risk of the dye being left behind in the fabric.
