When the Joule will be available
Alvaro_Higuero_320827
Hello I would like to know when the preorders will be fulfilled and and if the credit card that you use for the preorder will be charge at the moment of shipping or as soon as the preorder is placed?
Brgds

As I understand it, the credit card is charged immediately and domestic orders will begin to ship in May (not sure if there is a specific date in May). Welcome to the line of anticipation. :-)

Could be wrong, but I don't think they are legally permitted to charge the card until the merchandise is shipped. That would be some BS if you started incurring finance charges/interest without being able to lay your hands on the thing for six months.

i'm pretty sure I was charged right away (at least I thought I saw it on my statement :-)..but I could be wrong also). Finance charges only occur if one doesn't pay it off immediately..

Did some more reading; it's not a legal issue, but it
is
against Visa and MC policy to do so unless the customer affirmatively agrees to the charge. Which could very well be something in the Ts and Cs that no one reads before agreeing and accepting. lol

Bringing this delivery date issue up in big letters is just wrong....I had set aside any thought of delivery for almost a week ( had a 1 week chit) now i have to go to the next meeting and say I relapsed and start over....its like pouring me a nice zinfandel and then taking it away...it's very dangerous ground...

Hi Alvaro! Thanks so much for your inquiry! We plan to begin shipping in May 2016, and right now are working to ensure that Joule is the phenomenal product that our customers expect and deserve. When we have additional updates, we will post them here. Also, we have an FAQ on credit card charges/refunds right
here
.

By law, a big box store or online store (Amazon) cannot do it: but we (the investors) paid ChefSteps via "crowdfunding." When participating in a crowdfunding product, our money is at risk of being totally lost. Cuz we're giving the product maker the money to actually build the things we're collectively purchasing. (This is why we got a good discount for our advance payment.) However, we have gotten to know the fine folks behind the Joule and we think the risk of loss is extremely low.
I am waiting impatiently for my Joule. Not because I fear loss, but because I cannot wait to play with Joule!

I honestly don't remember it being a crowd funding thing. Derp.

I figured this was a crowd funding proposition, but it would have built better understanding and shown a customers value to the process if it was clearly stated as such. I'm eagerly awaiting the product, which I know is funded by pre-orders. Still, I think better transparency would have been a better tactic.

I think they were very transparent. The FAQ's were clearly stated. It did take a mouse click, but there was no small fine print (which I find refreshing).
