IFTTT or Amazon Echo?

Are there any plans to have ifttt functionality? For example the ability to have my a smart bulb flash or change colors when either the bath or food is ready would nice. I could also see the Amazon echo being helpful. Alexa, when will my food be done? or Alexa, what's the current bath temp? Is this something a 3rd party could possibly implement?

Amazon echo would be great. HomeKit for the current product however wouldn't be possible. IFTTT should be fairly easy as long as Joule can make or receive a web request. I like the idea of having the lights flash. There is a SDK available, so all interested 3rd parties can contribute to Joules added functionality.

I completely agree. As more Echo devices become available (read, the dot) people are going to have them everywhere and it would be nice to be able to be able to check on dinner from the garage

Totally doable (depending on the state of the Joule API). I'm actually actively working with another sous vide controller manufacturer to enable Alexa support for their system. We didn't get a chance to dwell on this in our discussion during Joule demo day, but... I would like to see this support explored... Voice assistants are going to get better, and IFTTT is an increasingly useful tool.
