Some of you will recognize Grace Lee as a longtime ChefSteps community member. It seems she's been busy working on a new sous vide product. Those who are interested can find more here:

i really love the design of this!!!!
the only rice cooker (cuckoo) i've is not going to work because it's bit too smart. however, i'll share this on fb!

wishful thinking on my part but i really hope the next gen of sous vide appliances have some sort of smartphone compatibility for remote monitoring and control et al.

@Chris - thanks for the mention, I could not be more proud to contribute to the sous vide world given what you, Grant and the whole Chefsteps team have done!

@Sumit - that's EXACTLY what I had in mind too, but that would be a stretch goal for Codlo as we would need further funding for e.g. Bluetooth modules, app development and so on. Thanks a lot for your kind words and support. I hope we can make Codlo a reality.

@Grace - Cool stuff. I've passed on the website to my friends who have started to express interest in Sous Vide now that I've been talking it up the last year or so. Price of entry has always been a concern for them, so this may be just what need. Good Luck!!

Indeed - price, perceived complexity and space were their key concerns when trying sous vide. Given how awesome sous vide is, we created Codlo in hope to spread the sous vide love far and wide.

I was put off from the Codlo kick starter by the absence of mention of available voltages -- by all appearances the devices to be produced were all of one voltage (probably European 220 V 50 Hz). If clear mention that the Codlo would be provided to kickstart contributors in the voltage appropriate to their locale, I wouldn't have hesitated...

Hi @Leigh - sorry for that. Codlo is available in 3 plug and socket types:

US style plug (NEMA 5, 110V-120V)
EU style plug (Schuko, 220V-240V)
UK style plug (BS 1363, 220V-240V)

It's detailed in the Tech Specs section of our main Kickstarter page. We have so much to explain and introduce sous vide cooking to everyone that we left it out upfront - we'll update our pitch accordingly.

That said, we still have 3 days left to the campaign and it's not too late to get one (or a few)

I'm late to the thread (and already have a sous-vide supreme), but have a big round of applause for being the only Kickstarter SV setup I've seen to solve the "let's hang a heavy thing on my pot" problem!
