Well all the power is on, and I'm living in the house. Hood will start going in this week. Rooi thinks the kitchen is fine as it is.

What better than the first meal to be cooked in the Combi than leftover, bad, cheap pizza. Apparently there is a difference between 3 minutes and 3 hours with the timer, as I found out 2 minutes after this photo was taken.

The next meal was a vertical smoked chicken, based on the set recipe in the unit (Combi; 175°C/350°F; 35 min; 100% fan; browning 1) I just added 10 min of smoked at the beginning.

I'll wait until the hood is in before smoking again.

Recipes and ideas come from sites like ChefSteps; other random sites (YouTube is good); cook books (I have over 500 with a third coming from estate sales); restaurant websites (I look at southern hemisphere restaurants, as I live in the northern hemisphere to see what product is being used, so I have ideas when it comes into season); morning TV shows with the 3 minute dump and stir segments (roast chicken on bread and Guinness cake baked in a glass are two recent dish I stole); lots of trial and error.

The architects have many photos.

I looked for second hand combis, but all were 3 phase. The power company looked at me strange when I asked if I could have 3 phase in my suburban home, so new a combi was the only option.
