Yes it can, it will send you notifications to your iOS or Android device that you have the app installed on.

Oops, maybe I misunderstood the question. I took it to mean did the device itself give off an audible alarm when done.

No I think you understood the question correctly. The question its self just shows the ignorance of the asker. This and his other three questions show the absolute lack of any due diligence on their part. I suspect some nefarious objective for all their negativity.
