Has anyone tried putting the immersion circulator into a sugar/salt brine?

salt is corrosive to metal, it will rot your equipment and produce on off taste in the food (aluminum is not non-reactive)

I wouldn't. Salt adhering to the inside of it.. Not cool. Just bag stuff with some brine.

Why would you? It would be easy enough to bag a brine and put that in the circulator.

It is NOT recommend. The salt will not be good on the equipment and with the sugar, good luck getting it all cleaned out.
