Joule ETA

Can I get a best and worst case eta on when this will ship? My last circulator(Gourmia) died about a month ago and waiting until May for Joule to ship was no big deal. Now I need to know if I have to pick up an Anova to hold me over until you get the bugs worked out. If the worst case is June or July I can wait but if the best case is, say, November well....

I don't think there is anyone here who could make an educated guess. If you check out the link that @Brandon_Byrd_40557 posted, there are several things setting back the shipping of Joule. There are engineering issues, government licencing issues due to exceeding the maximum power transmission: which is a two fold problem. 1, they need to fix the exceeding the maximum limit. Once that is fixed, they need to re-apply for government licensing. Depending on the causes of the mentioned problems, they could be fixed now, could take a few weeks, could take months to fix. And, once the problems are fixed, there's the re-applying with the FCC. Granted, i'm not terribly familiar with the FCC, but if that particular agency is anything like the DoD, the FDA, or the USDA, they take their grand old time, unless it's something benefiting them directly. While everyone here could take a guess, I'm not sure anyone here, outside of ChefSteps, would even be capable of taking an educated guess. You could try contacting them directly. Good luck.

Thank you for your thoughts, brian. I did check out the link courtesy of Brandon Byrd and reading through the comments I noticed a reply from Chris Young(Works at ChefSteps) stating "...we don't want to predict a new date that is nothing more than an informed guess that turns out to be wrong.", and so said thats exactly what I want. I was under the impression the ChefSteps folks occasionally reply to questions on the forum, and was hoping for just that. Being unable, as you said, to make an educated guess I am a little perplexed at your post, but hey, thanks anyway.

I replied to your comment, because you hasn't addressed to anyone in particular, and because you asked for a best case/worst case scenario for shipping, and for "informed guess [even if it] turns out to be completely wrong." true, it does not answer your question in the way you would like it to, but it does address your question in the most informative way I was able. In your more recent post you say that Chris Young's reply is exactly what you were looking for, but according to your post "I am absolutely comfortable with an informed guess that turns out to be completely wrong." it seemed that would not answer your question in the way you seemed to be looking fort top be answered, which is why i decided to respond. If you are not looking for member feedback, addressing a post to ChefSteps, or contacting them directly may help weed out replies that you aren't looking for.
