I noticed in a bunch of chocolate bars that they contain vanilla or some sort of vanilla flavoring. Why is that?

Chocolate and vanilla complement each other and bring out flavors you normally wouldn't taste. Vanilla is amazing it works so well in things you wouldn't expect.

I disregard with what the other folks say. It's to hide off flavours. Really good chocolate has it's own distinctive and beautiful taste, which you don't want to be covered by the vanilla.
