Length of electrical connect cord?

Have on old kitchen without enough outlets. Was going to buy an Anova but the cord is only 30 inches requiring my use of an extension cord. Since they don't sell 2 foot extension cords, that is a pain. I just need the Joule cord to be a little bit longer so I don't need an extension cord.

Can't find in specifications, the length of the Joule cord. Does anyone know?

You should be good. I read its two and a half feet in length. Thats substantially larger than 30 inches.

I'm not sure how long the Joule's power cord is, however, they do make 2 foot extension cord. I've even seen them as short as 6 inches. You can find almost everything (including 2 foot extension cords) for sale with google. here's one, and another, and one more just for grins.

Thanks Brian. Guess the other part of my question is whether 16 gauge wire is adequate to power this 1100 watt unit WITHOUT getting hot to the touch (appliance is not getting enough power - too much resistance). I do know if you "starve" an appliance of power, it will run but burns out prematurely. Big problem in the construction industry by burning out power tools - light gauge cords weigh less and are lighter to carry.

Don't want to burn unit out prematurely. Most small appliances now have a warning "DO NOT USE WITH AN EXTENSION CORD". I believe the additional male and female plugs create more resistance (reduced electrical flow).

Well, you've got me there. You'd need to look into the specs of each one to see if they could handle the load. they seem to all be 16 gauge, but I didn't see power ratings, though, to be honest, I wasn't really looking for them.

That's ridiculous!! Why would you need a 6 inch extension cord when you can easily move your night stand 6 inches.

Ok I asked this question of Chris while I was there...his response was 1 meter or 3.28 'mercian feet. 39". I had only had a couple of glasses of white wine, 2 glasses of champagne and 1 glass of red so my memory is pretty spot on...

Thanks so much Brian. That answers my question. So, a 3 foot cord or shorter, 16 gauge wire, will not be a problem with the Joule. Hate the fact that all cords are so short today. Saves a few cents on the manufacturers end as they can use a slightly lighter gauge of wire with a shorter wire. Now if we can just find out when they will deliver the Joule in the US.

Maybe this helps....the unit on the far left is plugged into the outlet on the left. the containers are are about 12" wide....as you can see the cord is not stretched all the way out..

This is on my short list for Joule 2.0. Have a detachable power cord. This would solve several issues, like easier, cleaner storage, (not a big fan of wrapping the cord around the unit) plus if someone needs a shorter or longer cord it's a simple matter to just purchase one that meets their needs.

The problem with a detachable cord is the water proof issue. CS has invested in a manufacturing robot just to put the glue on the cord to insure a water tight seal into the body of Joule. When we were there last month they showed pictures of the robot.
