Weeks, Months, Longer

Don't mean to beat a dead horse but...my patience/needs do have their limits. So without being specific, are we talking about weeks away, months away or longer for a shipment?

I said this in the post
@John_Fisher_218893
mentioned below, and I think I can quote it here:
"This is really kind of an impossible situation for ChefSteps. Over and above
@Ellen
's reply below about why they can't be specific with updates, scroll down in the forums. Some users want weekly updates, even if those updates are "no news". Some users go crazy when they see the Joule in the recipes and don't want to see it at all.
Again, that's just in the past couple of weeks. It's a tough balance to strike, and no one will be happy. We all want our Joules. They are awesome. They're coming soon.
If you need a refund, contact
@Ellen
and get one, she's great about it. I'd stay the course, and wait for them to ship... Some of the community members, me included, have had a chance to work with them, and they're worth the wait."

That's the thing, I am not looking for absolute specificity. I can understand they don't want to get back to us every week and inform us that it wont be ready for shipment again. But I would imagine that they must have a best and worst case scenario. That's all I am asking for.

said they are worth the wait. My Anova just quit on me so I'm waiting for a replacement wishing I had my Joule. But knowing it will be a quality product that I can rely on, it will be worth the wait. So I will wait patiently and hope for the best.

I'm sure they are worth the wait. But I have a few events coming up in a couple months and I am going to need it (or something). I would love to wait, just not sure I will be able to.

I totally understand, I've been without a sous vide circulator for a three days and I feel totally lost. I too am trying to decide if I should purchase another one while I am waiting. I know I want a Joule, the ease of use alone is totally worth it, I know it will be used everyday if not for every meal. I can have it in a drawer and stick it right in a pot and not have to fill my 5 gallon cambro and lug it from the sink to the counter top. And then there is the software app, the visual reference alone would be worth the price of admission. But then there is the WiFi capability that will let me control it and know the status of my cook anywhere I have cell phone signal. I am sold on the merits and the technology and I wish I had it now. But with my current circulator on the fritz and really feeling I can not be trusting it for long cooks, especially higher temperature ones (as it has a tendency to turn its self off because the electronics get to much moisture or heat, even with a lid and insulation) I am totally sold on Joule. I don't work for ChefSteps and I have another sous vide machine now, but in my opinion and from my personal experience being able to have hands-on use of one of the Joule prototypes, Joule is hands down going to be the best sous vide machine on the market. I too am frustrated as I had really thought that I would have had it in my kitchen by now (it was my birthday present from my wife, which was yesterday). With all that being said, I also understand and appreciate that ChefSteps doesn't want to put an inferior or problematic machine on the market. If you check the forums and blogs regarding the Anova WiFi precision cooker you will understand what I am talking about. I think they rushed their new version to market too quick without enough testing in a home environment and a lot of users are not very happy with their product. IMHO it's going to be worth the wait, but I do agree that I would like to at least know what issues have been resolved and what issues they are still working on, which would give us some reasonable indication that we will be getting our Joules soon.

Exactly. They gave me an estimated ship date when they took my pre-order. Why can't they update their estimate?
Aaron_Meyers_328763
for what its worth, and keep in mind this is just what i found in research FCC approval takes 8-12 weeks. That is an average, and an average of a government process no less. So it really could be way above or below that estimate.
