I agree, also I have an address in NY State that I could have it shipped to but would have to order it using my US Dollar Canadian Credit Card... Could I order it sent to my this address?

Because ChefSteps is not covered by the FCC authorization in Canada. I'm not sure what the Canadian government telecommunications regulatory agency is, or what They're requirements are, but those would need to satisfied. Not to mention ChefSteps would need to get a license to do international trade.

Under most circumstances, Industry Canada will accept a certificate from the FCC. There are few additional documentation requirements, but additional testing is usually not necessary. Good neighbors, and such.

I would ask
@Ellen_212162
those questions or email her at ellenk@chefsteps.com

I stand corrected, (well, seeing as i'm sitting...) regarding the FCC/Industry Canada authorization.
EDIT:
According to the Industry Canada they will accept FCC certifications as long as the following are met:
-The test report must be less than one year old;
-If the type of measurement was "radiated", the laboratory who did the testing must have their Test Site (OATS or Anechoic chamber) approved by Industry Canada;
-If the type of measurement was "conducted", the laboratory who did the testing is not required to have their test site approved by Industry Canada;
-A cross-reference table must be submitted with the test report to show that the equipment meets all of the applicable Canadian requirements.

These must be met in order for the IC to accept FCC certification.

While true for fcc, if I recall some require additional electrical safety certifications not related to the wireless components. Ces I believe is the governing body (and slow).

We are anxious to support Canada, but as a business there are several requirements to legally sell Joule within Canada. On the hardware side, there is the need for CSA certification. But there is much more than just doing this, and there are surprising number of details to get right. Some are significant like registering to do business (and pay our taxes) within Canada, ensuring that our app and legal terms of service comply with Canadian law, and establishing warehousing and fulfillment services within Canada. Others are minor, but still quite time consuming such as reprinting our packaging with English and French labelling. All of these factors really apply to launching a product in any country, and so we need to prioritize appropriately. This said, we have a lot of community members in Canada, and we're anxious to get Joule across the border.

I think the body is CSA.

I have the same type of situation as Michael, in that I have a USA based address, but I want the Joule in Canada. If I were to purchase it to be sent to my NY address and then have it forwarded, will the Canadian authorities allow it to be delivered in Canada?
