Polyscience Sous Vide Tool Box App for iOS
Matteo_66556
Hi all, I just wanted to share this excellent app as a trusted kitchen companion for sous vide cooking. I have been using it for a while and it makes water temperature choice and cooking timing even easier than they already are. It allows for setting up different types of food (meats, poultry, fish, eggs, etc...), type of cut and thickness. It advises on cooking temperature for doneness and informs about pasteurizing temperatures. It also allows for setting up additional time for tenderness or ice-bath chilling times. After starting the timer a graph will show the projected food temperature and the progress in the pasteurizing process, untill bleeping loudly once the food is ready...
After strongly recommending the app, my next comment is an idea for the ChefSteps staff. Why not adding a "ChefSteps favourite cooking temperature and time" section in the app? I find very often the temperatures recommended by PolyScience are sllightly higher than those in you recipes or in the Modernist Cuisine books, which I believe has to do with some food safety issues... But once aware of it...

Yup, ~80% of smartphones and ~63% of tablets.

Basically the same message I got 4-5 months ago. Quite annoying considering the 80% market share android has in the world.

No ETA.
I just received a reply stating it's
"in the works"
and
"like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to find out when it goes live."

I sent PolyScience a message a few minutes ago. If I hear back from them, I'll post their response.

They told me it was in the works but that was like 4-5 months ago and when I followed up they didn't get back to me. Same goes for sous vide dash (which I believe polyscience bought but allows to be distributed alongside it).

I wish they'd make the app available for Android.
I can't justify buying an iPad just to run this app. LOL
