I understand power issues in other regions, but we're the same as you folks when it comes to AC power.

Is shipping/export the issue? Or is it some sort of standards/certification thing?

I keep throwing my credit card at the monitor...can't wait to get one.

If I recall it's a CSA certification thing (and other regulatory issues). This is not uncommon (I'm a Canadian living in the us and have seen this many many times)

Hey James, NOTHING good that's available the states is available north of the border. Look compare the US and Canadian amazon and you'll see what I mean, hell I live in toronto and I have to get my friends to bring up the immersion blender I want because I can't get it in Canada

Don't break down and buy an Anova. I just sold my Anova to buy a Joule, and I had that one for about a year and a half.

PLEASE for your own benefit don't buy an Anova...they have some issues, at least several of us on here have had some. The Joule is so much better...

@HammeredChef DEFINITELY does NOT work at ChefSteps , lets be objective here. The Joule looks great indeed... on paper/video. However, unless you have been a beta tester for the Joule, your statement makes no sense. The Anova may not be perfect but it has a track record of several years. The Joule is barely out of the gate. No product is perfect and I'm sure the Joule will have its own wrinkles that will be ironed out over time. Drool all you want over Joule but its no good to anyone until you can actually get your hands on it. I'm a fan of ChefSteps and Joule. Just not a fan of overzealous, blind faith advice.
