Pre-order Refund Credit Card Changed

I'm glad things are progressing nicely with the pre-orders and shipments this fall. I'm not sure how many people this applies to, but I pre-ordered mine way back in January/February when it came out, and have since changed credit cards. You mentioned that cards would be refunded the $50 difference from the previous price to the now $149. How can I still get the refund? Also I never got an email saying when I should expect mine to ship, how can I check on that?

sounds like- i just fired a note to Ellen then came here- they have the best of intentions and now need to sort through mechanics.... I'll sit back and wait quietly, grateful the right thing is being done.

Do you have a different bank altogether? If you have a new card with the same bank, you should be okay. (I'm in that boat myself actually; the card I used to purchase Joule was nuked after an identity theft incident. But I still have a credit card with that bank.)

It is with the same bank, I guess we'll see what happens. Anyone from Chefsteps can confirm a date for the refund? I don't care when it is, just want to be on the lookout for it. Also can anyone answer my ship date question?

While we're not physically able to refund to a different card or issue money via check, our payment processor maintains that we can safely refund the original card, as banks will reroute the refund on their end. If your card has expired or been cancelled, your new card will be credited with the refund. In the rare case that you don’t have a new card, the bank will usually send the refund to your bank account or issue a check to you in the amount if you have closed all accounts with them.

In the worst case, the bank won’t know what to do, and will send the refund back to us, at which point we’ll get back in touch to make alternate arrangements.
