Foodsaver drip tray

Ok, I'm stupid. Forgot my drip tray in the dishwasher and I have no time to get it. Is it save to seal food and liquids without ? Maybe making a tray with aluminium foil or something like that?

It is the foodsaver v2860. Hope someone can answer me

How many times are you going to be using it before you're able to get the drip tray? If you're only going to be using it a few times, you should be fine. Each time you use it, take a few paper towels and thoroughly dry it out. Once you're done using it, use some sanitizing wipes: Clorox, Lysol, a paper towel soaked in a 70% isopropyl alcohol, etc., and let it dry well before putting the drip tray back in and returning it to storage.

Around 8-9 times tomorrow. I will vacuum infused oil for 3 times but I don't see any point vacuum it actually so I will only seal it before I cook it because I think that will be safer haha.

Making the exact shape with aluminium foil won't be a smart idea?

You could make it out of aluminum foil, but I would still run some sanitizer through it afterwards.

I am assuming you will ultimately get your tray? In that case I think you would be fine, a tray made from foil will help so you don't get as much liquid in the vacuum chamber area. You can contact FoodSave and get a spare, that might be a thought for the future. Here is their contact page on the FoodSaver website.
