Temperature Selection

I just had a question dawn on me. In the videos that were posted last week by chefs @Grant_Lee_Crilly_63791 and @Chris_Young_80640, you mention that the Joule app will automatically make the temperature scale selection for you, depending on the number you put in. Is there a manual option to put in Fahrenheit or Celsius? I am going to use the cheese curds recipes as an example. You're heating these to 91°F-95°F/32.78°C-35°C. Now, if you're cooking vegetables, you're using temperatures around the same numeric value 190 °F / 88 °C, but on a different temperature scale. Depending on the preference of a consumer, one might want their vegetables a little less textured, and bump it up a few degrees Celsius. I would like to know if you enter in a numeric value in that questionable range will it give you the option of Fahrenheit or Celsius, or will it automatically make the (possibly wrong) choice for you you?

Hi Brian, You can set a default of celsius or Fahrenheit, which works mainly for the recipes in the Joule app. But, when you manually enter a temperature, if you enter 58 the Joule app will automatically select Celsius, if you enter 136 it will automatically select Fahrenheit. The app is very intuitive.

Yeah it did the manual selection, which I didn't like. While convenient also confusing. I gave them feedback and it seems that in their last version update on the beta, they allow for manual selection. Significantly easier. Good on them for taking the feedback

I understand that it does automatically detect what it should be, and works well from all the feedback, however, as in the example i used if you're in the 88-95 range of temperatures, it could be either Fahrenheit or Celsius, depending on what you're trying to accomplish. In a case like this, I wanted to know if there was a manual override for whatever it selected for you, so long as the option was within it's operational limits.

Yes no problem. Here I entered 90, my default is set for Fahrenheit . It automatically selected °C, then clicked the °F on the screen and it went to 194° F. I then clicked 91 and °F, no problem.
