Yes you can, yes it is, and if you search for "octopus" in the forum you'll see a number of them. 85C for four hours is a pretty popular starting point.

Yes, you can. Why would you think it's any more dangerous than anything else? I cook mine at 77ºC / 171ºF for 5-6 hours. I usually do that, quick grill, then just a little salt to taste.
