Back in April my lovely home was inundated with flood waters, not feet but inches....just enough to cause complete and utter ruin.
Thus up came the carpet, walls cut up two feet and a kitchen that had to be gutted. And I do mean gutted.
From all that mess and chaos, a new kitchen was born. While we were able to keep one set of lower cabinets, everything else was replaced with new, custom built units that I designed. I'm happy I got my new kitchen but I guarantee you I sure don't want to have to go through another flood just to get there!
One of the additions I added was a book case at the end of the knee wall so that all my cookbooks could be in one place instead of scattered in bookcases all over the house.
While we were at it, I did some fast talking and got an expanded walk in pantry....expanded by having removed the water heater that used to be in the back corner and instead, installed a tankless unit out in the garage, freeing up six more feet of space....more room for more stuff!!
All I lack now is my Joule!!
