Foodsaver jar as vacuum chamber?
ChefsPassion_404784
Big question for me is (not able to test it now) could the jar of the foodsaver vacuummachine be used as a chamber? For instance to remove air out of gels or macerate fruit/vegetables

The vacuum isn't strong enough.
A faucet aspirator will work.

+1 with Digging Dog Farm. It will pull a vacuum but no where near enough to get the results you are looking for. I have the same lid sealers and I tried. I ended up getting a chamber vacuum to finally get the results I wanted.

Can you give a more detailed explanation of the process that you used, as it was scattered through that thread, with different observations from others, the entire setup is not clear to me, and this is something I would really like to try, thanks!
