Does this look familiar?

I am excited to get my Joule, but it looks like someone took a lot of the Joule ideas. Same wattage and cooking app:

How To Joule

I don't like what little I've seen of the design. They don't like to show it from the side, which is weird. I'm not sure how well it would attach to thick-walled vessels like Cambros or a cooler. And I'd like to see the guts of the thing. The Joule's heating element and impeller are remarkable new designs. So is the interchangable clip system. And the magnet so you don't even need a clip. And the app is going to be insane (and is already better than what else is out there). There have been circulators with apps before, and the apps were sad, sad things in comparison. Just wait until the content in the app comes fully online.
Anyway, good luck to the Sansaire people. I'm all for putting sous vide tools in the hands of more people.

I agree with Brandon. There is one drawing of the side view; so that "bendable" part at the top apparently is some kind of flexible material. Itʻs too short, it appears to me, to be of much use in a deeper pan. Too much like a one-trick pony. Or as Alton says: "monotasker". If it wonʻt fit deeper pots or container... ??? And a kickstarter? I think maybe Sansaire is not doing so well in the marketplace. They should have worked on updating the current model. Redesigning and looking more competitive with current models. I think Joule is just going to be a tough act to follow.

The design makes it so limiting as to what type of container you can cook in. Try using that in a 40 qt cooler. They don't give enough technical information to even attempt to make a comparison. IMHO Joule is light years ahead of any other sous vide device. Sansaire is trying to play catch up, but I don't think this model will do it.

Not really. I would imagine that Joule has or is patent pending for a lot of its technology and design features. So even if it was familiar...it wouldn't be for long.

I agree with all the brilliant gentlemen before me. I think there are a lot of limitations to their design. I do think that it's probably a great purchase for many newcomers to sous vide, especially if they were able to nail the cheaper prices. I've owned a couple of the original designs, and honestly, I love it! It does a great job, and I haven't experienced some of the problems with other units. Nonetheless, in comparison to the Joule, I don't think there's much of a competition. I'll pick the Joule over the Delta, and any other immersion circulator, any day. I suspect Sainsaire will do well, and I sure hope they do. I really like their first design, and will continue to be a fan.

I don't understand why no one make a completely submersible version, so it doesn't matter the size or shape of the vessel, you just plop the whole thing in there. Ideally it would be able to be placed horizontally too I think.
All that said, I agree with everyone that the new sansaire looks limited in it's ability to adapt to multiple sizes of containers. I know for myself I rarely use a pot.

Why not come up with one?

Marketplace is crowded already... more so I have no knowledge or real skill set in that area.
