What Food processor.

Hi

I am looking after a quality foodprocessor. I want one that is both strong and silent, it also has to be able to grind nut for cakes and cut vegetables and I wold like one that does this straight into bags or containers.. Lately I have looked to Robot coupe 201 and 301. i like the vegetable cutter. But I dont now if it can grind nuts? With a good result. Do you have any knowledge about this machine ore similair? It have to be 220volts.

Today I use a kitchenaid.

@Ulf Henriksen I've had good luck with the commercial line of Robot Coupe for use as food processors. But if you want to mill nuts to a smooth paste, we get the best results with our Waring Xtreme blender. We blend the nuts whole, starting on low speed and increasing the speed as the pieces begin to flow. After about 10 minutes we get a wonderful smooth nut paste. Warning: Do not try this with an underpowered domestic blender.

Sure, a Vita-Mix should work fine. You need to fill it with enough nuts that they will tend to fall over themselves under gravity at the early stages of grinding. A common problem is not putting enough nuts into the blender. At least 1/3 full is about right.

Second, start on the lowest speed. You may need to help the nuts fall into the blades at this stage. Once the pieces become small enough that they start to flow, you can increase the speed--a little at a time--until everything is smooth. It should take about 10 or so minutes, and the nut paste will get steaming hot, as will your blender. This is very hard word for a blender.

Yes, it is indeed a photo that gets used for publicity. Don't like posed photos like that, but some people seem to want them. Prefer the photo on my Gravitar here that is me enjoying strawberry moonshine at 8:30AM with Sean Brock at last year's Memphis in May.

Hi

What I am looking after is not a paste of nuts. It is a dry powder of nuts to be used insted of and like " flour" in cake.

I also want it to be able to cut vegetables like the robot coupe 301.

It is also important that it is clean, no spill when using it and silent.. Any suggestions?

@Norway Grinding nuts into a flour is very difficult. The problem is that as soon as the bits of nuts become small enough, you will have released a lot of the but oil. So the bits of nuts will become suspended in the oil and you'll end up with a paste. To get a nut flour from an oily nut, you will need to remove nearly all of the oil from the nut.

@Norway, what kind of nuts did you say? Is that almond? I believe the Robot Coupe 301 will do exactly what you need.

@Norway The robot coupe will work well. If I don't want to end up with an oily nut-butter paste, I often find that freezing these nuts helps end up with a powder rather than a sludge.

@Chris - I've always wanted to work with liquid nitrogen, but not sure how to do this in a home kitchen. As I understand it, the product is fairly readily available, but you need a container. Any tips? What equipment is needed to handle safely?

Also, I liked the demo for the quenelles. I've never been able to pull off a good one, so I appreciate the technique lesson in the video. Part of my problem is probably the spoon, or at least that's what I tell myself.

However, I have seen many recommendations by many users, So I want to add my suggestion. Try Cuisinart DFP-14bcny, My wife is using this food processor for the last 3 years, and she had not faced any issue with it.
