Chefsteps needs to Chefstep Up

Firstly: The same three people who keep replying to everyone's posts and defending Chefsteps on here needs to get lives.

No one wants a refund. People just want information about a product they purchased.

Chefsteps transparency has been as clear as mud.

Working in production and shipping/receiving for many many years, there is no way they don't know a harder ship date than September, especially, with only 10 days left.

It's quite sad they are pushing more Joules on people when they can't even fulfill their orders from a year ago.

Chefsteps should definitely not be proud of their manuveuers.

What we know:

1. Joules begin shipping this month, September 2016

2. Individuals who ordered Joule in the month of August 2016 will likely receive their devices in the month of October 2016.

3. Joules will be shipped out in the order in which they were received in the pre-order phase

They have informed us when they weren't able to meet previous shipping date estimates. Since the window is September to October, it is likely a large group of individuals who ordered their Joules may get it in the month of October (e.g. if not in the pre-order group). They do exist and work well. I get it's tough waiting.

I got tired of waiting, ordered my Joule in February and whenever I'd ask about info on the delivery date all I got back was a , "We'd be happy to refund your money." I've never heard of a company that was so eager to lose a customer and be so happy to refund my money. So last month I asked for my refund. I've lost faith in the people running the company, or at least the Joule department. They do not seem to have professionals that know about customer support and customer relations. They seem to have much more important things to worry about than keeping customers. It feels like armature night whenever I'd ask about the Joule. Now I'm not so sure the first run of Joules will be free of manufacture defects or other unforeseen issues. I've lost trust. Many people here have a blind faith in a product that has not come to market. I know several people have a beta version and have been happy with the Joule but who knows what the quality of the mass produced Joule from China will be like. Until the Joule has come to market and has good reviews I'll be using my old Anova. I'm on a waiting list for the new Mellow sous vide which is said to come out in the fall. It will be interesting to see who ships their product first. I'll get on the second wait list for the Joule and see how the first batch turned out. This whole experience with the Joule has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Luckily I don't need a joule, I have a small collection of sous vide machines. I was just wanted the Joule because of the novelty of a new product and because I'm a sucker for good advertising so I thought I'd add it to my collection. So now I'll play it safe and wait out this waiting game.

I agree; I feel like a make good is in order. There is no excuse for how this has been handled, although I'm sure Brian and FrankM will think of one...

Okay then, I'll step up and defend them - Chefsteps hasn't missed a deadline, except for perhaps your imaginary one, when you decided that September ended on the 20th. September is commonly accepted to end on the 30th.

Until that time, you should have your hands full telling people what to do with their lives.

Which part of "plan" comes across to you as a deadline? Because I'm going with the official communication that says they will ship in September. And checking my phone and PC's date again... It's still September.

You've been on this bandwagon for quite some time. If you recall, you were agitating around the time that they announced the September ship date. I don't know why I am surprised that you are bringing the meaningless drama now.... Trolls gonna troll.

No, it's not! It's just good guys having a hard time with communication. Most of the time when Chefsteps got quite, they came back with awesome videos or news. The problem is that this time people are very anxious to get their hands on Joule!

I definitely don't think it's a scam. I do, however, think that Chefsteps jumped the gun in many ways when it came to the Joule R&D and production.

They obviously were not ready for an undertaking of this size and didn't hire the right people to manage the fiasco. They would rather just give you a refund than explanation, to me that some craziness. It feels like a very immature response.

They have to be shitting themselve.

Wow--that's some selective reading. Correct--they haven't missed the September deadline--yet. But my Joule receipt clearly states "We’ll start shipping Joule in May 2016." So they have missed a deadline or two, to argue they haven't is incredible selective reading.
