Joule to Europe

This is bad. When the Joule was set up for preorder, I ordered one for shipment to Europe where I live. I knew it would take a bit longer to get a EC certified one for use in Europe, but they were working on it, so I gathered it would be close after a US release.

The impression I got was that they were working on it, so that they would come to the european market later.

But alas ... today I read about the state of Joule in Europe and see a 1 month old post: "Currently, Joule will be sold for use in the United States only. We hope to expand to international markets as soon as possible, but we do not currently have a firm ETA." meaning that its nowhere remotely close to even having decided if they will do it ... nice. Guess I was stupid waiting and telling everyone else to just wait a bit longer while they got the certification process in order.

Ohhh yeah ... no information was sent to me directly as a preorder customer.

The Joule pre-order was always for US customers, and they've always said that the international version would ship later. Well, the pre-order for US customers is about to ship, and they're working on a version for the European market, but they aren't sure when the hardware will be ready (the power requires some redesign) and when they'll be able to get everything certified. The current situation is the same as it always was, except that the release date for the US version got pushed back.

I live in France and also pre-ordered Joule a year ago. They took my money but refunded it soon after, promising me that the European version would be ready in fall 2016.

I checked several times since and I was always TOLD soon soon. But they no longer bother to answer emails.

The lack of information is discouraging. I've been holding out replacing my worn-out Anova for a year now based on Chefsteps "coming soon"/" working on it" comments, but I guess their european subscribers aren't a priority.

I subscribed pre-joule, after the launch it seemed like I payed for a joule commercial. A product I can't even buy. That really, really sucks...
