Trivet + Cambo

Hey everyone. First time posting here so bear with me. I'm excited to get into sous vide cooking and super stoked to be getting my Joule soon. The question I have for people is: is the magnet on the bottom of the Joule strong enough to work through a Cambo container if it's placed on a metal trivet? Thanks in advance!

yes it is, and @John_Fisher_218893 has tested it..... you don't need anything as heavy or big as a trivet...

Hi David it's a magnetic stainless steal disk with a permanent glue dot. I found them on the internet a while back. I really haven't thought of selling them but if there is enough demand I could. I've used it with a beta Joule for months and it works great.

Disk not required. Removable clip that comes with it works just fine on a cambro. Will need a larger clip for coolers... But I'm sure they have one in the works.

You are correct, not required. However, if you want it to fit in the bottom of the cambro it works great. The clip doesn't let Joule sit on the bottom. Last I heard they were working in getting a set of clips, but I don't know where they are in that process. The priority has been getting Joule out.

Depends on the size of the cambro. Sits on bottom of 6L and close enough on the 12L. Agree that anything larger than that is a stretch. It leaves an empty space at the bottom where your food can soak... so I don't see the problem with that.

Just don't want anything thinking a disk is necessary. Joule comes ready to use! The existence of a clip was something I wondered about.

Saw someone else post that you can just use a mason jar lid older the cambro.

Thanks! I might go this route or something similar. My original reasoning for a trivet was so I didn't have to worry about the container sitting on my countertop (laminate).
