Hi Jason - we remain excited about the possibility of an open API, but have been so busy getting Joule ready to launch that we haven't been able to prioritize it yet. Thanks for your continued interest in it, that is great to know!

I'm on the fence about getting a Joule; I love the hardware, but the fact that the interface depends on an app makes me concerned. I'd feel a lot better if I knew the SDK were out in the wild, so that there'd be a path forward if the app suddenly vanished someday.

Especially since there’s recent news that Sansaire is closing down. Devices with IOT APIs like these need to be open.

I loved the idea. I enjoy my Joule. If I were to do it again though, I would get one that I could set at the device.
