Just pre-ordered the new V 2 Echo Dot...should arrive about the 25th of this month. I will report ASAP...this may solve the non-smart phone users issues as they are only $50. Looks like they will be adding recipes to the Dot also not just off/on, temp, time...

And just damn conveinent for the kitchen..

I've been using Alexa for a while now and it is super useful. Being able to use it with Joule is incredible. Now if I could just get my hands on a Joule🤓. Soon, I think.

I can't wait for your update. This is really cool, being able to just talk to Joule will free your hands up while you are cooking other things. Great job ChefSteps and @Huy_63293 who has been working on it with Amazon. @HammeredChef_DEFINITELY_does_NOT_work_at_22134 posted this below but I think it is worth repeating.

I have a Dot, and Joule, but they do not communicate with each other. Skill IS enabled. Both are on the same network. Joule is turned on. Dot just keeps giving "welcome" message...

Hey Hammer, did you get your Dot on the 20th? Mine is up and running. Have 3 Echos around the house too. I really like what Amazon is doing with Alexa. I have a built in stereo and speakers system in my kitchen. Had been using the Echo in the kitchen and was bummed I couldn't get Alexa to speak through my ceiling speakers. Now I've got Dot tucked away out of site in the kitchen and she speaks through my kitchen speakers via blue tooth. When I get my Joule... and Alexa together... can't wait!!!

I've got Alexa talking to most of my house lights. I'm using Philips Hue system. Works 99% of the time but every now and then She'll loose connection to one of the light bulbs. Not sure if it's the Echo, Hue bridge, or my house keeper Eloisa that's causing the problem. She loves to unplug everything when she cleans. Always seems to happen when you want to show off. I'll have friends over and I'll say, "check this out, Alexa turn on panty light," and nothing happens. Wait for it... wait... Then my buddies roll their eyes and walk away. 2 or 3 min later the light will turn on. Hmmm, for the most part the Hue system does work well with Echo.

Works ok so far, I can get it to turn off joule and to tell me what the current temperature of my water is (which I keep checking obsessively but it is always what it should be🤗). I need to learn all of the commands I can use!
