Feature Request-Making Use Of The App Notification

Hey gang. I don't know if this is even technically possible (I'm not an app developer) but it would be super useful if what appeared in the notification bar for the Joule app displayed real time info about your current cook. I'd like to be able to look down at my phone and see, say, current temp and time remaining without necessarily having to unlock the device. (Altho, I can infer that this is something that might be possible via the new Alexa skill.) Currently cooking pork chops for dinner, and I'm finding myself unlocking my phone a lot to keep my timing on track. Be quicker if I could just peek at the phone even if locked.

Hey @Matthew_Snyder_68770 I do know that they regularly monitor the forum but the best way to make a suggestion is to do in in the app under "Submit a Support Request". It also gets tracked and you can see the status of your request and get some feedback. The Application Development Team monitors it very closely.

This would be possible on Android...I think. Sadly, not for iOS. We've got some things in the backlog we'd like to do for Android, including up-to-date information like you suggested. It's possible we'll get to it if enough people ask for it!

We could do a Today widget for iOS that you could see by swiping over on your lock screen. That's been discussed.

I think we talked about that it would be cool to do some shaping of the cook process there too, going as finely grained as - "Got hot plates?" in time to heat them, etc. Of course, it would be nice to be able to have an expert mode as well..

In iOS 10, the widget also shows when a user force touches on the app icon even if the widget is not on their Today screen, making it pretty easy to access.

If what @Matthew_Snyder_68770 is suggesting is anything like Sonos uses for their app, I am all for it. The Sonos app allow you to still use it even in locked mode, IOS and I believe Android, in a limited fashion.
