Two Fat Ladies old school

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever had the pleasure of watching Clarissa Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson in their tv series Two Fat Ladies. I haven't watched it in eons so today I thought I'd catch a few episodes. Since the last time I watched it I've put a lot of kitchen miles of experience and now I'm gleaning tons of new info I never caught before. If you've never seen the show, filmed back in the mid-90's, has Jennifer driving her motorcycle with Clarissa in the jump seat, going from venue to venue, cooking local and fresh. Classic French and other types of recipes, in so many awesome kitchens of varying ages with equipment to match. It's charming and fun to watch plus the recipes are truly memorable.

Both ladies have since passed away. Sad. But they sure left a great legacy.

I remember catching a few episodes of that show, on PBS I think ... Hadn't thought about it in forever.

I lived in the UK for 13 years and I loved watching that show on the BBC. They were funny, a bit naughty and cooked some great food.

A few years ago I bought the series on DVD. Well worth it. I spent the afternoon drooling! Lol!!

I tried to find a streamed version but it is not available on Amazon prime or Netflix. But while searching, it reminded me of what a lovely show it was. I may just get the full DVD version, which is available on Amazon. Thank you Byrdie, it brought back to mind a wonderful show and the wonderful person I use to watch it with.

You're very welcome. I hope you invest in the DVD's. I hope others do too and then we can banter back and forth about the yummy dishes from very experienced ladies who don't need a set of measuring spoons! Good, solid excellence! And their banter, songs, complaining...it's all part of what made these two fat ladies the Two Fat Ladies!!

Lesson 105....game....is one of my faves. When Jennifer cooks the medallions of venison tenderloin then finishes them off with blackberry jelly and a reduction of the pan drippings, game stock and creme fraiche...all I want to do is swoon......
