Doesn't seem all that great to me... The only thing it provides that other models don't, is a chamber in which it can keep one item under vacuum. Since the unit doesn't refrigerate or heat the item in its chamber, there are VERY few things that I would use it for. Bread is pretty much the only one that comes to mind.
Since that chamber doesn't add any value to me (for the concerns stated above) the unit doesn't seem to be a better option than a foodsaver, which is 1/3 the price, and more compact.

Looks like it makes a great bread box. If I had the counter space...

I saw this a year or two ago when it was still in the works. As I recall it was a 'fund me' project and an investment got you a cheaper price. Anyway, I thought it was interesting at the time. That being said, looking back at it now, it's not very practical. It's bulky, requires 'special' bags, requires 'special' boxes, all at an additional cost, of course. Bread storage would be the only thing I could see it being used for. And even then the box would have to be near an outlet to close and seal every time you need a slice. Better to invest in a good chamber vac.

I bought one and got it after 3 years of waiting. I had no idea how large it is. I have nowhere to put this in my kitchen. When I unpacked it, someone asked if it was a scanner/printer.I guess I'll try it now that I have it, but would have wiser to buy a foodsaver at Costco for 1/3 the price and 10% storage space. Can't tell you how it works because I haven't even completely unpacked it after 2 weeks!
