update if all preorders coming in october?

I ordered later than most (9 Aug) on here but it was still a preorder. I would like a estimate if my joule will ship in october, which was the last information I had seen released officially.

All im asking is for an update of an estimate. I need to decide if another sous vide that is on sale and available currently is a better option rather than wait for 2 -3 months more which is my guess with limited information being released.

Can anyone answer what makes the Joule a better sous vide? Is it worth it to wait, I can be waiting months if you go with "THE PREORDERS ARE BEING SHIPPED IN THE ORDER THEY WERE RECEIVED" ... this wouldnt even be a thought, if i even got an update saying oh it is estimated august preorders will ship mid Nov.

basically Joule is smaller and heats water faster.

Thanks I was just looking at the same review...also Joule has a bigger capacity of water it can heat.

Why would it get deleted? Just because it's a competitor's product doesn't mean it's gong to get removed. Plenty in this site (including ChefSteps themselves) have used anova. For what is, it's a decent unit. There's nothing wrong with pointing out an alternative for other folks to save some money.

Not to mention it's more efficient at hearing water. Most heating elements lose energy their surrounding environment. Joule is designed to recycle the heat that would ordinarily be lost back into the heating of the water.

I pre-ordered mine on Jan 18, 2016. No notice that it has shipped yet. However, 3 days ago, Dec 21 & Dec 22 pre-order people posting they have been notified Joule has shipped. So, your Aug 2016... guessing Dec, Jan, Feb? Just a guess. It's a shorter wait than the rest of us.

Would love to know the same. According to their October 4th newsletter, Joules were on sale and if you ordered then would ship in 6-8 weeks (placing delivery roughly 11/15-11/29). Based on that one would hope our pre-orders would be shipped before then. But you know what they say: fool me once...

Another (possible) reason why the Joule is better is because it has no lcd screen on the unit. I have read a number of reviews (from consumers) of the Anova that there can be an issue with water/steam getting into the lcd unit and causing failures. Some of these reviews talk about covering the lcd end in plastic cling wrap or even a blanket to try to keep out moisture. I believe I read that the Joule internals are sealed, and of course it has no screen.

I posted a similar thread a week ago and got no response. It would be nice to get an update since we were told that if we preordered in August, we would get them in October.

I agree that with the current pace, it looks like August 2016 will arrive no earlier than December. Stinks since I placed my order hoping I could use it for Thanksgiving.
