Containers | new setup

Just finished the new work setup. Vaccine transport cooler with a 2in hole drilled through the roof. Joule fits nicely and heat loss is negligible. Volume is approximately 4L. Perfect for a steak, chx breast, or a few eggs. (Wish I still had the 60L thrown out long ago).

Thanks for the great idea. We get this size (or larger) at the brewery were I work and are typically thrown out.

I tried to use one I got from a D'Artagnan shipment but , at higher temps, 160F plus it would "bleed" water through the walls (it was not condensation) Have you tried any prolonged higher temps yet....I love this idea, maybe I had the wrong styro composite

I have done higher temps/longer cooks with one of these and yes it does bleed water, albeit slowly. I cooked a couple turkeys in a large one years ago and simply placed a bath towel underneath and monitored water levels. this small guy will be used primarily for short low temp work such as eggs bene in my cubicle or a nice ribeye seared off with the Searzall. (I have very understanding coworkers)

You can use a crock pot liner bag, or another temperature tolerant plastic bag, to eliminate the "bleed". The pressure of the water will keep it in place and you can reuse it many times.

You certainly do have understanding workmates Benjamin, do they require some payoff?
