My partner Bill died last year after 33 yrs together. A huge component of our life was food & cooking; either together or for each other or for our friends. Most of the time we were guinea pigs for each other; trying new recipes or techniques Our time in the kitchen together was always the time of day when we'd catch up on the day's events & plan what we had to do the next day.

At first, after his death, I had no interest in food for a long time. But I forced myself to get back into the kitchen to cook the food we loved to share. Now, I continue to cook & experiment & learn & share - & every time I do, he's in my head & the kitchen with me.

I don't mean this to be morbid or sad. Bill & I had a great life together & cooking was a large part of it - & it still is in mine.

I'm happy that Ryan & Jaci have this to look forward to. I'm sure it will be as important & meaningful to their relationship as it was to mine & Bill's.

I got verklempt. Had to blow my nose. My husband and I cook together nearly all the time. I'm the detail "takes three days to make" girl and he's the "throw it together" gumbo, Cajun guy. I love that most south Louisiana men take pride in cooking; my male coworkers and I tend to talk about cooking every day.

The bride of 23years & I cook together & love it. Like it has been said quick meals, company meals, and long evolved meals. Hardly repeat a recipe. Really cements our relationship. Wonderful video.
