Pancakes with cardamom sound YUMMY! I need to alter the recipe due to food allergies/sensitivities. Is the malted milk powder for flavor or does it impact the texture? I'm wondering if I can omit it and still have fluffy pancakes. Thanks for sharing!
I don't know what cardamom tastes like but there is definitely something wrong with the photo above. There should be a pat of butter and a pouring of syrup atop EVERY pancake!
If you do as you suggest then there is a chance you will never know how cardamom tastes like. You can't have your pancakes bathing in syrup, this is a trick to cover bad pancakes!
In Germany we put cardamom on nearly every pancake . Ours are as big as the pan and we use a sugar- cardamom mixture on the top and then smashed apples or marmalade or...

Do you mean cinnamon ? Never had cardamom with pancakes over here, but sugar, cinnamon and apple puree is classic.
Yep, I think she means cinnamon. I am also from Germany, and the combination of cinnamon and sugar is quite common over here. But not cardamom, it's more a Scandinavian thing. Or Imke lives in a part of Germany I don't know...

Cardamom tastes fancy
Chefsteps says it adds flavor and promotes browning but the first time I made it I did not have malt powder and they were still delicious.
Medium high is what I did mine on. Just be sure to spray griddle!
I wish my mom did. It'd make those character pancakes so much better. Hopefully I can be a good mix of your mom and my mom put together.

I do a rocking cardamom French toast and just so I'm clear no I don't mean cinnamon. I make a cardamom pastry cream to go with my banana boracha French toast. Basically bananas, star anise caramel deglazed with dark rum and a fatty slice of brioche French toast, it's pretty much the cats meow
