I am really happy that this tool is available in germany... I couldn't find other tools like conches on the internet without having to pay 50€ for shipping for them...
Way cheaper on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/ISI-Gourmet-Whip-Quart-PLUS/dp/B002NY6PVO/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1466452070&sr=1-1&keywords=isi+Gourmet+Whip+1+Quart
Don't forget to buy the iSi Funnel & Sieve kit:
http://www.isi.com/en/culinary/products/isi-accessories/funnel-sieve/
No matter what size siphon you buy (pint, quart), the neck will have the same width, and iSi's own funnel fits right in there like a glove. The sieve fits right into the funnel as well. It's such a perfect fit, that it's still worth the purchase even if you have funnels and sieves in other sizes. (And it wasn't too expensive on Amazon either.)
hi, what's the difference between isi gourmet whipper and cream whipper? can i use cream whipper to do all the same things that you guys are doing in your gourmet whipper?
I'm surprised you would use the same number of cartridges with a 0.5L siphon and a 1L one. Why is that? Doesn't the pressure go twice as high if you use the same number of cartridges in the 0.5L one?
In my kitchen the 1 liter and 1/2 take a different size charge. Smaller for the smaller unit which explains why doubling is needed no matter the size.
You can use just about any siphon to do this stuff. The iSi touted here is a pro unit and meant for that environment. The major consideration in a "pro" anything is resistance to abuse. If the unit is going to be tossed around in a pro kitchen by a wad of folks that don't own it there's a durability concern. iSi addresses that concern in this siphon. In your kitchen you can use just about any siphon. Any knife that cuts is all you need. Any pan that allows you to cook is all you need. If you like pro gear this is for you. If you want to do this stuff on a smaller budget you can.
Amazon has a whipper called the Otis Basic that's less expensive than ISI and comes with a whole lot of accessories that aren't included with the ISI. Is the Otis Basic as good as ISI?
I’m purchasing a siphon for home use and reading in comments that 2 chargers are needed for the quart siphon vs. 1 charger for the pint siphon. Wanting to conserve costs of chargers, leaning towards the pint. If you have only 1 pint of liquid in a quart siphon, do you still need 2 chargers?
