I want one of these. I've been searching for one of those 19th century clockwork mechanisms which does the same thing. Up to now I just hang the bird or leg of lamb in a string and keep giving it a little wiz every time I pass by. I put a marge metal grill against the back wall of the fire place and burn the wood behind the grill. This holds the burning wood up presenting a wall of flame to whatever I am roasting. Look really nice and works well. It's what my Froglette chums call Roti à la ficelle. Great fun! Superb results.
who cleaned up?? haha

Yeah, everyone should try cooking by headlamp at least once.
Wow. It takes serious skill to cook that well in the dark.
