I love to get one of these. Will you be posting other recipes so I have more excuses to get it? Though I'd love to have cochon de lait frequently in the winter, something a bit smaller would be nice to know how to cook.
I did buy the spit from Amazon for my birthday and am planning to roast a goat for my husband's birthday in a few weeks. Imagine my chagrin when I looked for other cool stuff on their website and find their banner states, "For men who cook". I wrote asking if I had to return my spit because I have two X chromosomes. I'm not a militant feminist and hate political correctness, but I must admit this stuck in my craw. Can't put my finger on exactly why. I usually laugh this stuff off, but I am the MEAT MASTER at my house and no one is going to take that away from me.
That, is very cool! Unfortunately the farmers, here in my neck of the woods, won't sell a smaller pig. I've always wanted to try suckling pig, but have been turned down by all my local butchers. Pig farmers make more money, when they're big and fat..... :-(
Well Ms Meat Mistress, you showed them! I guess by throwing a hissy fit all you did was deprive yourself of some really cool gear. Do you think that women who take offense at someone presuming them to be uninterested in male dominated pursuits sort of prove the point to the haters by reacting in a self-injuring emotional outburst? If you can`t take the grilling heat then maybe you`d better stay in the kitchen. Maybe they only want to sell to men and if your point was to get the better of them then you should have bought all that stuff for yourself.
